forever + one day

oy, it's been forever, aka one whole month and a few days since i've last posted. april, where have you gone? diabetes has been frolicking through my body, as per usual, but my desire/ time at work to write about it, has not been as available. i am hoping that once tonight's big work event is over, i'll have more time during the work day to get my diabetes epistles written. because, let's fact it, i am much better at keeping up with my outside chores during work time than i am on my own time.

as i said, diabetes has been its ever-present self these last few weeks. i've been working it out five to six times per week, and softball and football have started up again. i love playing these sports, but they are a little bit annoying in the added blood sugar drama that they entail. one would think that such sports would lower my sugar, but in fact, they do the opposite. many a time, i end up with a sugar of high 200s, even the 300s. it's kind of a crapshoot-- i don't want to go low if i start out playing with a sugar level under 100, but if i eat anything or turn down my pump, i skyrocket. i think it's partially adrenaline, and partially the fact that this kind of cardio can't compete with my gym workouts.

so that's that. my foot is still giving me some pain, but the xrays came back negative. so i am just waiting for the pain to subside and have been doing workouts that don't put as much pressure on my footsy. hopefully, i'll be ready to run the harpoon five-miler in june! it's been feeling better steadily for the past week or so, so i am hoping to be able to do the big race.

that's all for now. yay may!
