yesterday and today have been cold cold cold. from walking to and from the T and gym, i have managed to pick up some nasty windburn. my cheeks are bright pink and very dry. you would think that this kind of weather would prompt more people to wear facemasks, but i have not even seen one. i think i may try and unearth my old turtlefur.
they say that cold weather can pull down your sugar, but i have not really experienced that. conversely, my sugar seems to be settling back into its "normal" (when i say normal, i do not mean perfect. i mean semi-predictable and sort of more managable if you don't have really high expectations.) state to which i had become accustomed before last week's crazy laura-needs-no-insulin blip.
i am confused about why on earth that could have happened. i keep trying to isolate things that might have been different with my body, and i can't pinpoint anything. to be honest, this scares me. i hate thinking that there was something wrong with my body to make it do that, but of course, that's the first place where my mind goes. i just can't rationalize the idea that my body just did this random blip of needing less insulin. it makes no sense!
but i guess i am just going to embrace the idea of being sort of back on track for the time being. i have a doctor's appointment today-- hopefully she doesn't tell me that i am dying of malaria, and that's the reason that my sugar was so funky.
